Woody Fincham is one of the founders, major shareholder, and managing appraiser for FM & Associates. With just over 10 years in the business consulting and inspecting residential properties, he is very experienced in knowing how to best service your needs. He has recently become an instructor with a local real estate school, and will be teaching broker pre-licensing, and realt estate agent pre-licensing.  Woody is a Certified Residential Appraiser in Virginia, as well as North Carolina.

Woody's career began as a home inspector and 203(k) HUD approved Consultant. Being one of the youngest people to ever receive that license, Wody also is a certified HERS energy rater through the now defunct VHERO EEM program. Woody has an AA degree form Johnson & Wales University, Norfolk Campus.

A life long native of the area, Woody understands the rewards of living and working in this fine community. In his life time, Woody has seen this community blossom into a major metropolitan area.  Large corporations and major tourist destinations are very abundant here, and it makes Woody very proud that Hampton Roads still feels like a smaller community.  Woody has enjoyed a very rewarding career appraising, having established and run one firm, managed/trained for another firm, and then finally hanging out his own slate in April of 2004 starting FM & Associates.

Woody has trained more than 8 people from licensed trainee appraisers to full state licensure, and currently has 2 full time licensed trainees working towards their licensure. As he is always concerned with being the best appraiser that he can be, Woody is working towards his SRA designation with the Appraisal Institute, and is currently enrolled to finish his degree in Business Management with a focus on Economics.  Woody plans are to eventually teach appraisal theory and other types of financial theory to professionals and college level students.

Woody is also currently instructing real estae appraisal theory at Millenium School of Real estate.  He teaches agents who are working towards their broker license with the state.  He enjoys this oppurtunity to try and bridge the two industries together.  There really is no better work enviroment than one that inlcudes agents/brokers and appraisers working together for the common good. 

Woody is also a chosen Member of the a la mode labs project, a think tank panel that is helping one of the worlds leading appraiser software companies innovate and improve the workplace for other appraisers.  Woody was chosen from a slew of national applicants numbering more than one hundred, and he is honored to be part of this kind of progressive movement in the industry.  A la mode is the leading provider of software and website services to appraisers.  The labs project is designed to bring in active appraisers to help research and develop software tools and innovations to help streamline and increase productivity in the appraisal industry.  You can read more about this exciting project on the labs official website: http://www.alamode.com/labs/Default.aspx.

Personally, Woody is husband to Laurie (who just happens to be his personal assistant and office manager) and father to a wonderful little boy.
