Here is a list of artciles that Woody Fincham, Presdient, has written on various topics in the appraisal industry. Woody has taken a very bold step into making sure the industry is fair to the general public, and also that the industry is not taken advantage of by large businesses.
The appraisal profession is one of the last industrie sthat is still predominantly a small business driven one. There are great advantages to this including the ability to actually work with people, and for people. The disadvanatge is that many large coporations and other interested groups from politicians to trade organizations trying to take over, and/or force their way into cutting into the appraiser's pockets.
